Acura Safety Leader of The Pack
Acura Safety Leader of The Pack
The name Acura conjures up so many quality, style, and especially luxury images. Driving an Acura allows you to drive with comfort and ease. The Acura embodies luxury while still being very reliable.
When an automobile goes through the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) safety tests, The vehicle undergoes a full safety test; the trials prove to be the most thorough examination done by any automobile safety organization. The 2021 RDX and TLX have scored top marks by receiving the Acura Best Safety Pick by IIHS.
Acura Best Safety Picks
The RDX and TLX also performed over the top in the challenging passenger-side small overlap test, ensuring the vehicle's resilience to offset passenger-side crashes. These crashes tend to inflict the most damage to cars and cause the most severe injuries to their occupants.
Both the 2021 Acura RDX and 2021 Acura TLX qualified for Top Safety Pick in all crashworthiness tests. Next year's models are expected to fare even better! All of this is due to the AcuraWatch suite of safety and driver-assistive technologies available on all Acura models.
Acura Safety
These incredible advances include the Collision Mitigation Braking System, which uses various sensors to scan the road ahead of you, checking for hazards that may be in your way but difficult to see. Adaptive cruise control with low-speed follow and road departure mitigation ensure the car stays in its lane and doesn't veer into the next one. Certainly not to be missed is Acura's Advanced Compatibility Engineering, their next-generation body construction, designed to make the car's structure stylish and functional while exceptionally durable and damage-resistant. By developing the body, potential crash energy is distributed more evenly throughout the front of the vehicle. Minimizing the damage in the front helps to protect the passengers in the back. Any occupants can rest easy knowing they are in one of the safest automobiles on the road.
Acura's Revolutionary Front Airbags System
Perhaps the most exciting news concerning Acura's second-to-none safety suite is the revolutionary front airbag found on the TLX. While airbags have been standard for many years in many different vehicles, the airbag on the TLX announces a new age in technology. Not every front collision comes from directly in front. Angled and offset collisions have proven to be the leading cause of severe brain trauma in car accidents. Acura's new front passenger airbag comes designed to prevent the occupant's head from sliding off of it and manage lateral collision forces that may cause it to be turned or twisted in the event of an accident. Believe it or not, this glancing motion causes the most head injuries from airbag application during auto
mobile accidents.
In essence, this new airbag technology doesn't block your head from colliding with the dashboard. Instead, it catches your head and secures the force brought about by the collision to ensure no further injury to the occupant safely. In other words, it is the first airbag ever designed to catch and wrap around your head rather than explode into your face.
