As an Acura owner, you should be aware that occasionally Acura Canada will perform tests on Acura vehicle components to ensure they continue to measure up to the strict standards set on all Acura vehicles. When Acura determines that a car has a defect of any sort that may fall below that standard a recall will be issued.
How are Acura owners notified of Recalls?
Acura Canada will notify all registered Acura owners by mail of any active recalls as they are issued on their vehicles. The letter will detail; a description of the defect, the posed problem it may cause, potential warning signs, how the manufacturer will remedy the issue, and instructions on the next steps. Once you are made aware of a recall on your Acura contact Maple Acura and schedule a service appointment to have the issue resolved free of charge.
How can I check active recalls for my Acura?
If you are unsure whether a recall has been issued for your vehicle, you can use Acura's VIN lookup to check if there are any active recalls on your vehicle. The VIN number is a unique 17-digit vehicle identification number recognized internationally. Your Acura's VIN number can usually be found on the driver's side of the dash. It will be visible from the outside through the window of the windshield. Once you locate and enter your unique VIN number in the lookup a list of active recalls will appear.
