Follow These Steps to Get Your Acura Keyless Remote Back in Working Order
If you're changing the batteries in your Acura Keyless Remote for the first time, rest assured, all you'll need are a pair of new batteries and a standard flat-head screwdriver. Most Acura key fobs and remotes operate on a CR2032 Button Cell Battery, which you can find at our Acura Parts Centre. Before you put that screwdriver to use, start by removing your remote's metal blade key. Once that's out of the way, gently pry your remote open with the screwdriver and remove the old batteries. Once you've inserted the new ones, just snap the two halves of your remote back into place and you'll be good to go.
As for the key fob battery in your Acura Smart Key, you can replace it with the same tools in just a few extra steps. Start by pressing the tab and removing the metal key, then use it to pry open your key fob through the opening left by the key. We recommend using a small screwdriver to pop the old battery out, after which you can slide in the new one with the "+" side facing outwards. Once that's done, press the key fob back together until you hear two clicks, reinsert the metal key, snap the Acura Smart Key halves back together, and you've got yourself a working smart key.
